These people GET it!

"We were lucky enough to stay at Harvest House on Sunday night, which was also my husband's 40th birthday. We just wanted to tell you WE LOVED IT!"

Harvest Farm is an 18-acre property located just outside the township of Healesville. Harvest House is a charming farmhouse set on the Harvest Farm property in its own private garden of oaks, roses, camellias and rhododendrons. The House offers seclusion and luxury for up to four guests and has old time character with modern luxury and mountain views.

Inside, the house offers two beautifully detailed king size bedrooms (one available as a twin), a large bathroom with spa bath and French windows overlooking the garden and pastures. The fully equipped kitchen has windows overlooking the original succulent garden and includes an oven, cooktop, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and an original wood stove. The kitchen is stocked with local olive oil, sea salt flakes, a selection of decent knives and white crockery.

The living area is open plan with French doors leading onto a terrace and BBQ area. A huge chocolate brown suede couch, games, glossy magazines, books, DVDs, CDs and a cosy wood fire complete the lounge. The house is readied for guests with masses of flowers from the garden, handmade local soap, fresh ground coffee and Twinings tea.

When the weather is fine there are countless places to secrete yourself; in a deckchair to take in the fresh air and mountain views, sit on the front verandah in the afternoon, dine on the back terrace at twilight. In winter, stoke up the wood fire and cosy up on the couch, or lie in front of the fire on the huge Persian cushions with a glass of red wine, the weekend papers, some jazz and watch the clouds roll over the mountains.

  • I wanted to write this email and thank you for the wonderful time we had. After a few previous nights at B&Bs full of the 'country cottage accoutrements' it was such a pleasure to walk into Harvest House. It was as warm as toast, clean and beautifully presented. The bed was divine to sleep in and the fresh flowers a delightful touch. We were sorry we could only stay one night.

  • We were lucky enough to stay at Harvest House on Sunday night, which was also my husband's 40th birthday. We just wanted to tell you WE LOVED IT! We are known to be rather fussy and spent the whole time walking around saying to each other 'these people GET it!'. King Size Beds, Jazz Music, deep spa, handmade soap, quality linen (no floral) - all so obvious to us but yet so many people don't seem to be able to pull it off.
