These people GET it!

"We were lucky enough to stay at Harvest House on Sunday night, which was also my husband's 40th birthday. We just wanted to tell you WE LOVED IT!"

Harvest House is one of two luxurious farmhouses set on the 18-acre Harvest Farm property in its own private garden of oaks, roses, camellias and rhododendrons. Harvest House offers seclusion and luxury, with modern comforts and mountain views.

Inside, the house has a choice of one or two beautifully detailed king size bedrooms, a large bathroom with spa bath and French windows overlooking the garden and pastures.

The fully-equipped kitchen has windows overlooking the original succulent garden and includes an oven, cooktop, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and an original woodstove. The kitchen is stocked with local olive oil, sea salt flakes, a selection of decent knives and white crockery.

The living area is open plan with French doors leading onto an expansive outdoor decking and BBQ area. A huge comfy couch, games, glossy magazines, books, DVD’s, CD’s and a cosy wood fire complete the lounge. The house is readied for guests with masses of flowers from the garden, handmade local soap, fresh ground coffee and twining tea.

When the weather is fine there are countless places to secrete yourself; in a deckchair to take in the fresh air and mountain views, sit on the front verandah in the afternoon, dine on the outdoor deck at twilight. In winter, stoke up the wood fire and cosy up on the couch, or lie in front of the fire on the huge Persian cushions with a glass of red wine, the weekend papers, some jazz and watch the clouds roll over the mountains. You'll love spending time exploring the garden, collecting eggs for breakfast and feeding bread to the cows.

  • I wanted to write this email and thank you for the wonderful time we had. After a few previous nights at B&Bs full of the 'country cottage accoutrements' it was such a pleasure to walk into Harvest House. It was as warm as toast, clean and beautifully presented. The bed was divine to sleep in and the fresh flowers a delightful touch. We were sorry we could only stay one night.

  • We were lucky enough to stay at Harvest House on Sunday night, which was also my husband's 40th birthday. We just wanted to tell you WE LOVED IT! We are known to be rather fussy and spent the whole time walking around saying to each other 'these people GET it!'. King Size Beds, Jazz Music, deep spa, handmade soap, quality linen (no floral) - all so obvious to us but yet so many people don't seem to be able to pull it off.

  • We loved the big deep bath, lighting a fire in the morning, and visiting the animals on the property. We also loved all the fresh produce on the farm and picked ingredients from the garden for our salad every night. A very relaxing weekend away.

  • The house was beautifully presented and had everything you could possibly need. The kitchen was well equipped and the breakfast hamper was big enough to get us through lunch as well. We were lucky that it was cold enough to light the fire. Thank you. We’ll be back.

  • We absolutely loved our stay at Harvest House.! The accommodation was clean and cosy, and we loved all the little touches like access to the veggie garden and the ingredients for our cooked breakfast. Our dogs loved it too. We can’t wait to come back!
