Immediate impression ... class!

"We were in room 6, overlooking the street. The room breathed tranquillity with its all white decor. A comfortable bed, good quality linen and huge bathroom all contributed to feeling that we had made a great choice."

The historic Bank of New South Wales building has been beautifully restored to become Mollisons in Kyneton. The co-owner, Debbie Myers is a talented interior designer resulting in ultra-modern interiors, with a tasteful mix of antique and contemporary furniture, stylish trimmings and novel decorator pieces. The type of luxury accommodation you would typically expect to find in the boutique areas of Melbourne or Sydney, not the idyllic surrounds of the country.

Mollisons has a range of accommodation available including: six boutique hotel style rooms each with private entrance, ensuite, king or queen bed and tea and coffee making facilities; a spacious, fully self-contained, two-bedroom apartment with lounge, dining, bathroom, kitchen and balcony overlooking the historic buildings of Mollison Street; and a one-bedroom suite with large bathroom, lounge and kitchen facilities. All rooms have a TV and DVD; some rooms have decks overlooking the garden.

Mollisons also offers visitors an exquisite retail experience with a unique concept store in the old bank chamber, showcasing a range of classic and contemporary decorator and design pieces. All the items inside your room or apartment are also available for sale, so you can take home a little piece of Mollisons luxury should you so desire.

Mollisons is located in the heart of Kyneton, only one hour from Melbourne’s CBD. This magnificent property with surprisingly quiet and secluded surrounds, is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of inner-city living and only a short walk from Kyneton’s famed Piper Street with its award-winning, chef’s hat accredited restaurants and high-class dining venues.

  • We have just returned to Melbourne after our fourth stay at Mollisons and we will be staying again. It is wonderful to jump in the car after work on a Friday and to be relaxing at Mollisons in just over an hour. In the summer, we sit on the deck and enjoy a drink before dinner. In winter the rooms are warm and welcoming. We have stayed in four different rooms now, all are slightly different but all with the same high quality fittings and fabulous linen.

  • If you're travelling to Kyneton, Mollisons is the place to stay. We were really impressed with the level of detail and the way Yvonne helped us out with directions, suggestions for brekky/lunch/dinner, she was terrific. The King room we had was fantastic, really clean, funky yet charming and very warming.

  • My colleague and I have a queen room each with a shared verandah surrounded by a beautiful garden and large shady trees. The hostess has been exceedingly generous in accommodating us. Shop at entrance a delight. Dinner at Mr Carsisi was fabulous. Will be back for weekend soon. Highly recommend.

A comfortable bed, good quality linen and huge bathroom all contributed to feeling that we had made a great choice. Would certainly book again.
