The Red Feather Inn is a charming collection of historic sandstone buildings built by colonial Georgian architect John Sprunt with convict labour circa 1842. Proprietor Lydia Nettlefold has reinvented the Red Feather Inn and combines classic Georgian architecture with French provincial simplicity and elegance to stunning effect.
Each suite is beautifully appointed overlooking the secluded garden. All feature lovely beds, state-of-the-art freestanding baths with endless hot water, gas log heating and more. Lydia's project at the Red Feather Inn and Cooking School has been influenced by her European travels and inspired by her passion for her birthplace, Tasmania. The Red Feather Inn showcases Tasmanian local produce, including Lydia's own farm products and harvest from the vegetable patch!

FEATURES

As well as the Inn itself there is a wonderful stone barn area, which is available for larger functions such as weddings.
Red Feather Inn has five gorgeous rooms and suites to choose from, plus a separate Georgian cottage. All rooms come complete with works by Tasmanian artists, a flatscreen TV, DVD player, kettle, fridge, bath, shower, Molten Brown products, and a library of books, DVDs and CDs.
RED FEATHER ROOM
Stunning convict hand-carved sandstone is the treasure of this comfortable room with ensuite bathroom and queen size bed.
THE ATTIC
This romantic, light and airy attic room with a Nordic feel is found at the top of an internal winding staircase. Sleep among the stars in a king size bed and bathe in the surprisingly vast attic bathroom.
THE LOFT
Part of the Stable and Barn complex, the original hay loft has been converted into two-storey accommodation with the bathroom on the ground floor next to the garden entrance. Sleep upstairs in a queen size bed in peaceful and relaxed surroundings under the giant, overhanging willow tree.
GARDEN SUITE
The entrance to this two-storey suite is from the garden into a welcoming sitting room, gas log fire, dining area and kitchen for simple food preparation. Upstairs features a queen size bed with bathroom.
LIBRARY SUITE
This elegant French provincial style suite has a king size bed with a chic sitting room/library, with dining and simple food preparation area, and a very relaxing atmosphere.
THE WATCHHOUSE COTTAGE
The Watchhouse Cottage was the original Georgian officer's quarters for the historic jail next door. The main cottage consists of two queen bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. It also has an open plan kitchen for self-catering plus spacious lounge and dining area. It also has a third detached bedroom and bathroom, overlooking the private garden.
