"We had encounters with king parrots, pademelons, riflebirds, bandicoots, green and brushtail possums, platypus, tree kangaroos etc etc. As wildlife enthusiasts, we can thoroughly recommend this place!! A most enjoyable stay."

Purpose designed for comfort in the wilderness, these five luxury timber and glass treehouses are perched high in the rainforest canopy on the banks of the flowing Ithaca River. Positioned for complete privacy, each treehouse features two king size beds, double spa, wood fireplace, fully self-contained kitchen, and a balcony with BBQ and hammock. All are totally secluded and offer a spectacular retreat from the everyday.

If that's not enough for you, try The Bower House - their largest treehouse and winner of four Master Builders awards. As well as the standard features of their other treehouses, The Bower House also has three luxurious bedrooms (king and single beds), two bathrooms, (one with double spa), and is situated privately on a rainforest ridge offering spectacular valley views.

In a world of rapidly shrinking ecosystems, this 100 acres of protected vine forest is part of one of the largest untouched tracts of rainforest on the Cairns Highlands, and offers a phenomenally high density of rare and unique wildlife. Resident Cassowaries, rare Lumholtz’s Tree Kangaroos and endangered Green Possums call this forest home, whilst shy platypus inhabit the river. Pademelon Wallabies abound and Coppery Brushtail Possums will visit your balcony every night, whilst Northern Bandicoots and other marsupials forage on the evening forest floor.

Wake to a serenade of birdsong every morning as an ever-changing parade of rainforest birds greet you on your treehouse balcony, or wander along the many walking tracks and immerse yourself in the grandeur of pristine, old growth, high country rainforest.

  • There are no words to really describe the beauty, it takes your breath away. We loved every second we spent here. The character of our regular visitors (birds-turkeys and possums) was wonderful. We will return.

  • We are definitely no Philanthropists but on seeing your printed ad we were drawn here. From the start we have been blown away by how amazing this place is and in both of our collective world travels have found this place the most memorable and beautiful. Thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful piece of our country.

  • Fabulous - one short week of rainforest living and all I can think about is coming back for another. We ate every meal outside, to the tune of bird song and nature. Travelled every day to waterfalls, coffee plantations (Bruno’s is a must see!) Lava tubes, and the beaches and crocodiles of the coast. To see a tree kangaroo in the wild - we were both speechless - and believe me, that takes a lot!

  • Not here for long enough unfortunately, but had encounters with king parrots, pademelons, riflebirds, green and brushtail possums, bandicoots, platypus, tree kangaroos etc etc. As wildlife enthusiasts, we can thoroughly recommend this place!! A most enjoyable stay - delighted with all the wildlife moments.
