Camping was never so luxurious!

"From the friendly staff, curious possums, delightful night rain to kangaroos in the morning light - I could not imagine anything more wonderful!"

Paperbark Camp is located in Woollamia, a few kilometres from Jervis Bay on the unspoilt South Coast of NSW. Jervis Bay is famous for its magnificent beaches, with dozens of unique dive and snorkeling sites in stunning crystal clear waters. Paperbark Camp is eco-tourism at its best, providing a beautiful and serene base from which to explore Jervis Bay. Placed thoughtfully amongst the soaring eucalypts and intriguing paperbark trees, the safari tents offer privacy and comfort, whilst at the same time providing a truly unique bush 'camping' experience.

12 canvas safari style tents have been placed thoughtfully amongst the soaring eucalypts and intriguing paperbarks, built above the ground to give privacy and to capture the sea breeze. All tents have wrap around decking with outdoor furniture, polished hardwood floors, full insect screening, solar powered lighting as well as high quality linen and all the hotel amenities you would expect for a luxe camping experience. They also include an open-air private ensuite, perfect for bird watching and kangaroo spotting while you enjoy a steaming hot shower. Delicious handmade soaps and lotions made from natural ingredients and gowns are also provided.

For a camping experience like no other, spoil yourself in the Deluxe or King Deluxe tents with freestanding bath and contemporary furnishings to create a romantic candlelit oasis amongst the gum trees … you’ll never pitch your own tent again! After a delicious dinner in the treetop dining room,  grab your torch and meander back under the stars to snuggle up in your own bush hideaway, lulled into a restful sleep by the sounds of the bush at night.

The Gunyah (aboriginal for meeting place, or place of shelter) is at the heart of the camp. It is a chic space, built high off the ground to enjoy the sea breeze and a wonderful position amongst the treetops. In summer, the sliding doors open up for outdoor dining on the verandah, providing a bushy backdrop from which to enjoy meals and observe the goings on of the resident possums, sugar gliders and birds. In winter, an open fire and candlelight bring warmth to the room, and cosy lounges are a perfect place for curling up on after dinner.

Activities at Paperbark Camp include canoeing, bike riding, bushwalking, birdwatching and spotlighting. Or spend an afternoon on the verandah reading that book you've been meaning to get to for ages, keeping an eye out for a passing kangaroo, or the majestic black cockatoo. Jervis Bay itself offers spectacular diving, snorkeling, bushwalking in the Booderee National Park, beautiful beaches, surfing, dolphin, whale and seal watching, golf and tennis. A short scenic drive away are local vineyards, and the pretty towns of Berry and Kangaroo Valley.

Paperbark Camp offers tranquillity, seclusion and relaxation, in a unique and comfortable environment - a welcome retreat from today's hectic world. If you have a slightly adventurous spirit and appreciate good food, great hospitality and the simple joys of life, then you'll love snuggling up at Paperbark Camp.
