The view is just breathtaking

“Being away from it all, climbing the hill to the top, saying hello to the cows and chooks, sleeping in a loft, from which you can see the spectacular sunrise ...”

Kilfeacle is a working cattle farm, with stunning views out to sea. Walk among the cows, feed the chooks, or play with Maggie their super-friendly Labrador. It’s time for some rest and tranquillity.

The cottage was originally a creamery for a dairy farm established there in 1860. It’s a cosy, rustic nest for two in a truly beautiful part of the world. It consists of a living space complete with quaint potbelly stove, a snug loft bedroom, kitchen and bathroom with charming clawfoot bath.

The loft bedroom, accessible by ladder, has views to the forest and ocean. The potbelly stove provides heating - the cottage is well insulated, so stays warm in winter and cool in summer. The small kitchen provides most things to prepare meals, including a dishwasher and microwave. Whilst no oven, there’s a Weber BBQ outside for cooking.  You are welcome to pick lemons, herbs and vegetables from the vegie garden.

Visit historic Milton with its boutique shops and cafes, go for a bushwalk on the farm (through rainforest or to the top of the old Potato Patch), or just relax on the verandah with a good book. Mollymook, Narrawallee and Conjola beaches are also very close, with surf lessons and snorkelling on offer. The hosts live in the house close by, but the cottage has a private outlook over three sides with forest, pasture and ocean vistas.

Access to the farm is by a mostly-sealed council-maintained road, which is fine for 2WDs; however, if you drive a low-slung vehicle you will need to take care over the rollovers (take them at an angle) to avoid scraping your vehicle. The road also has a small creek crossing and during rare periods of extremely heavy rain, it can flood for a day or two. This can temporarily make it difficult to cross in 2WDs. As a solution they can provide a 4WD to guests if the creek is higher than normal - it is an easy to drive (automatic) and is registered and insured. Your hosts will give you all the advice you need so you can cross with ease. Think of the creek as part of the authentic rural experience!

Kilfeacle Farm Cottage is a special place with breathtaking views and above all, peace and serenity offered by the forest.

  • Incredible four-day stay. Situated on the top of a hill, with incredible views across the mountains and cows on our doorstep. The cottage was very cute and cosy, and had everything we needed. We met Kim briefly and Maggie the dog was a welcome daily guest - will be back for sure!

  • Kim and Brendan have created a magical escape away from the hustle and bustle. It is a perfect space and has everything needed to make the stay comfortable. We just loved the birds, vegie patch, chickens and cows. Simply heaven and still close to absolutely everything anyone could need for a weekend away. Definitely want to go back again!

  • In the interest of keeping it a secret I almost don't won't to mention the awe inspiring laid-back country views. Rustic yet incredibly clean and cosy cottage with authentic pot belly stove and Netflix, that is nicely out of the way, yet close to the beautiful beaches and town. But it would be rude not to share what a fantastic place it is!

  • Wow, the view! The view is just breathtaking. Being away from it all, climbing the hill to the top, saying hello to the cows and chooks, sleeping in a loft from which you can see the spectacular sunrise, or drinking coffee on the porch in the warm sun. The drive in is lovely; just everything made for such a perfect birthday weekend.
