Where do I start?

"I can not recommend this place any higher. From the moment we walked in we knew this place was going to exceed our expectations. We stayed in a spa luxury suite. It was truly magnificent."

Bannisters by the Sea is a divine coastal retreat located on the cliff tops above beautiful Mollymook Beach, which offers contemporary ocean view accommodation, an award-winning restaurant, poolside cocktail and pizza bar, and luxurious Day Spa. All the ingredients for a blissful sojourn.

Bannisters has beautifully appointed rooms, including Spa rooms, Luxury Suites, Penthouses and the recently refurbished Collette Dinnigan Penthouse Suites, each boasting a private balcony and spectacular views. Decks provide a lovely sea breeze and great ocean view. Ensuring a comfortable stay, each room includes a plasma TV, DVD, Austar, mini bar, bathrobes, and tea and coffee facilities.

The cliff top location not only affords breathtaking vistas, but also allows easy access to the famous surf beach, Mollymook Beach, an easy five minute walk. Bannisters provides the perfect combination of tranquillity and privacy with all the comforts and facilities of a coastal retreat.

The Pinnacle Penthouse is the ultimate in luxury, with stunning interiors and the most incredible ocean view ... you will never want to leave.

Bannisters Day Spa helps you truly relax and unwind. With an outdoor area to soothe the senses, try a soak in the outdoor spa while sipping from a customised T2 herbal tea, before surrendering to a range of delicious treatments.

Rick Stein at Bannisters reflects Rick's passion for seafood and the coastal lifestyle which he has enjoyed for most of his life. As he says: "nothing is so exhilarating as fresh fish, simply cooked". While he enjoys occasional fine dining, his food is much more about what he really likes to eat ... a plate of Clyde River oysters, a pot of Illawarra prawns with mayonnaise, a mound of spanner crab, a slice of blue eye or a perfectly grilled sand whiting. Fully licensed with one of the finest wine cellars in the area, you can relax on the deck outside or enjoy a view of the ocean from every seat inside the restaurant.

  • Loved this place, what a stay! Stayed for 3 nights but wish we could stay longer! Stayed in a luxery suite and the room was spotless, views incredible and the staff wonderful. The pool and bar was fab, the bed huge and comfy and the deck was great. Loved looking out of bed at the ocean and the sound at night was spectacular. This place was fabulous.

  • As a huge fan of Rick Stein, my brother booked this for me for a surprise for my birthday. We arrived to special messages in the room wishing me a happy birthday and this continued throughout the visit. The service from the bar at the pool to the outstanding service in the restaurant.
